Asphalt-Shingle Roof Systems are all the same, anyone can install a roof, my cousin has a guy, the list goes on..

Not all roofs are created equal just as not all roof systems are a good fit for every client. However, there are some key components and information that should be taken into consideration when selecting a contractor and a roofing system.

Synthetic Underlayment & Ice & Water Shield Shield are two items a home owner will rarely bring up. Once installed, these two components will be hidden.

Synthetic Underlayment replaces typical felt paper with a material that is tear resistant, water resistant, and better protects homes from water damage should there be an issue with your shingles later down the road. Synthetic Underlayment is commonly used to tarp roofs temporarily after a wind or hail storm until further repairs can be made. This is hands down one of the most important components to a roofing system and should not be over looked.

Ice & Water Shield is not code in most parts of Texas and is commonly found in parts of the country where ice is prominent as it creates ice dams and can saturate the shingle, and allow water to pass through. I & W Shield adheres to the decking and is run through the valleys to better protect the contents of your home should water get past your shingles.

Time of completion, size of crew, cleanliness, likeability should all be taken into consideration. Make sure you do your home work when selecting a reliable roofing contractor in north texas. Also, Make sure you half way like them, they meet your needs, and can be trusted. After all, there are many great companies to choose from in DFW for Trusted Roofing Services.
